I am not a subject matter expert on this. Having been fearless for the most part of life and then become fearful (when things don’t go as per your plan) and then trying to overcome it. Sharing my experience of this cycle of fear and learnings from my Coaches, Trainers, family, Guru and friends.

What is Fear:

a. Fear is an overwhelmed state where you don’t take action consciously.

b. Fear comes mostly from a future state (more than 90% — losing a job, not having enough money etc.) and sometimes from Present (like I have become fat already and don’t feel good and be afraid to face outside people).

c. What others will think of me also add a lot of fear in people’s mind

d. Also being too critical of oneself — that I am not good enough personally / professionally/ for society / for family / for in-laws etc.

How to overcome fear:

a. First acknowledge the Fear: Write down your fears in your journal every day. You can write like a present, future fear. Big Fears / small fears. Keep looking at them on an everyday basis. After a few days/weeks you might laugh at them. Try it out

b. See your Hero’s: Everyone has a Hero/s (male and/or female). Like my Hero is MS Dhoni and Steve Jobs. You would have never seen MSD under fear in any condition. His mantra is to enjoy the process and don’t think about the outcome which is not in your control anyway. You should enjoy the game to the fullest and give your 100%.

c. Positive Mindset: The first book I ever read was the Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent. This book explains the power of positive thinking (highly recommended to read it). This helps to develop a positive mindset — if you follow cricket when South Africa Cricket returned back to International cricket — they had a positive mindset and approach to Cricket. All 11 players on the field were fearless and playing with a positive mindset.

d. Positive Thought: Once you have a positive mindset you need to focus on your thoughts. They need to be positive — every thought is energy. Everything ever created is created twice. First in your mind and second the actual thing in the physical world. Whatever happens to us we create first in our mind with positive thoughts. This is not easy, and we need to work on it every moment to remain positive. You can do a various thing to have positive thoughts:

1. Physical Exercise/Play for at least 30 mins — It helps to remove the low vibration energy from your body, and you open to receiving.

2. Silence — This is very very powerful if you want to practice simple thing. Remain silent with close eyes and head slightly upturn (like Adiyogi) and just observe your breath and thought and don’t judge them or do anything. Just observe yourself

3. Cleanse your Chakras — There are many mediations for cleaning your Chakras. Few easy things — spend time in nature, use the salt water bath, Chant — OM NAMAH SHIVAY, bath twice a day (morning, evening or before sleep), wake up before sunrise, listen to morning mantras early morning. Read more about Chakras and they function.

4. Right a Journal — When you write in your journal it starts telling you where you stand in your mindset and thoughts and would be able to do action in the right direction. It is a conversation with your inner real self.

5. Keep a company of Positive people — They say you are the best version of 5 people around you. We are reading Ramayanji — there is a lot of emphasis on having the right company of people around you. Stay away from low energy and negative mindset/thought people. Observe this for a week and you will understand what I am saying.

e. Run towards your Fear — I recently watch Playbook on Netflix. Many coaches say they run towards their fear and take it heads on. Watch this documentary of 4 coaches on how they train themselves and their teams.

f. Seek Help — From your close friends, family, colleague, Coach / Mentor or Guru. Having a coach /mentor is very important these days and have personally helped them a lot to overcome my fears.

g. Gratitude — We should be grateful to almighty for what we have. This is the most powerful point of all and has personally experienced the power of Gratitude. We when do Gratitude from bottom of our heart and soul we become a positive channel with the higher self.

h. Observe your words — Every word spoken and have every thought has an energy of its own. Observe the words you are speaking and be positive about it and don’t say limiting, negative words to anyone including yourself.

I am also learning to implement these points and thought of sharing with you.

With Gratitude, Love & Respect
